Trashing the Dress on the Outer Banks

 Cori Trashed the Dress!

The Trash the Dress session on Sunday September 28th was a spectacularly successful and unique experience!!

We started in the tiny fishing village of Wanchese, NC. at an abandoned building on the waterfront in the middle of dozens of fishing boats. We used both the outside and the inside and got some amazing images.

Inside junk lay everywhere, as well as mud and water on the floor. Here are a few of the images from that part of the session:

We went around to the front of the building before going inside. There is a great retro lawn chair outside of the door. Here are a couple images from that part of the session:

Inside amongst the junk, mud and creepy crawlies, Cori’s beauty was  luminous.

Back outside, Cori posed along the side of the building and then on a nearby fishing boat:

From Wanchese we headed to the Wright Memorial. It was quite a hike but worth the effort.

The last location with Cori was at the Avalon Pier in Kill Devil Hills, NC

We went into the water under the pier then ventured

out into open surf with surfers in the distance.

These images of Cori laying on the sand and going into the ocean in a

Formal Wedding Gown drew a crowd of onlookers who were stunned by what we were doing.

I bet they went home and told everybody they knew about the crazy women at the beach 

who were going into the ocean in a gown and rolling around in the surf as well as the nutty photographer who risked her camera to crashing waves. There were a couple of close calls, but everything worked out great. I hope that you all will agree.

These dresses were hung up to dry, shook the sand and it is impossible to tell by looking at them what they have been through. They will eventually make a trip to the dry cleaners before going into storage, but not until we get some more great photos!!
