Bells ring at St Andrews by the Sea

This past weekend Alex and Matt were married at St. Andrews by the Sea in Nags Head, North Carolina. They took their vows in the old chapel surrounded by friends and family who packed every pew and spilled up into the overlook where the chapels organ resides. Following the ceremony the church bells rang for the couple.

It was a blustery day and that
kept us from taking portraits
on the beach, so it was straight to the
reception at the Pearl,
located at the Sea Ranch in
Kill Devil Hills, NC.

Guests enjoyed cocktail hour in the lounge at the Pearl, overlooking the stormy Atlantic.
On display was Alex’s Bridal Portrait taken on the steps of the Marshes Lighthouse in Manteo, NC.

Wedding Planners Laura Sorenson and Shirley Cook of Sugar Snap Events
managed the Bridal Party, the guests and the Vendors with ease,
keeping their calm at all times and
handling changing situations with grace.

The bridal party prepared for their introductory entry into the dining room.
While guests nibbled and sipped the Bridal Party waited in the
Receiving line to be announced to the guests.
The Reception area was aglow with candlelight,
white linen tablecloths and chair covers
and red roses graced each table.

They partied into the night, and apparently the party
was just getting started when I left for the night!

September 24, 2008 · Leave a Comment

With the Month of October being recognized as Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, The Now I Lay Me Down To Sleep Foundation holds its Annual Fund Drive for six weeks starting in mid-September and ending in October.

President Ronald Reagan enacted Proclamation 5890 in October of 1988 to recognize that each year, approximately a million pregnancies in the United States alone end in miscarriage, stillbirth, or the death of a newborn child.  Reagan stated, “A national observance offers us the opportunity to increase our understanding of the great tragedy involved in the deaths of unborn or newborn babies.  It also enables us to consider how, as individuals and communities, we can meet the needs of bereaved parents and family members… “  To read the full Proclamation signed by Reagan, CLICK HERE.
